UNROUNDED PEYOS

I think K may be taking her latest fashion tips from the Chasidic Jews in Williamsburg. I snapped this picture after dinner last night. She of coarse being deaf to the fact she had unintentionally created a perfect natural ringlet curl.

The Torah says, "You shall not round off the peyos of your head" (Leviticus 19:27). The word peyos refers to sideburns -- i.e. the hair in front of the ears that extends to underneath the cheekbone which is level with the nose.

FRIPHONE PHOTOS

We want to start posting various iphone photos from our week on Fridays. We will call these posts "Friphone" We have had comments that our posts rarely are about the city and city life. Which is true, so now you will get a healthy dose of NYC each Friday! The following photos were all taken by K.P. (I love the first one)

While walking to work.

Astoria Park in our neighborhood. Facing the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

This is our platform we take to work every morning. I like that we live on an above ground line.

And watch this for good measure...

I HAVE A NEW JOB

I am about 5 weeks into a new job as a book cover designer for Vintage and Anchor books. I am very excited to be here and am loving the work, the freedom, the environment, and co-workers (Some amazing designers and people). I not only get to design all day but I get to read a lot.

Some of the afore mentioned talented designers I am rubbin shoulders with: John Gall, Peter Mendelsund, Megan Wilson, and Mark Abrams.

Here is a video of my office and some pictures from outside my window (facing south west). I work in the Random House Tower (P. Diddy lives at the top) on 55th St. and Broadway, right near Columbus Circle and Central Park. I/we spend a the occasional lunch in the park watching softball games or people gazing.

Here are a couple of covers I have done thus far.... (some rejected)
