FRIDAY FLOWERS

Each friday night we make it a point to get some flowers for our home. Often scored from my work or purchased across the street at our nursery and neighbors. I am not sure how or when this became a TGIF event but it has and I love it I particularly love the current beauties (see below). There is something about flowers that set a pleasant tone to a room.

AMAZING CHINESE WIZARD BOY

Cardon and I met for lunch on Friday at Union Square. We noticed a crowd of people gathering in an unusual spot...

Once, we pushed through the people we saw what all the fuss was about....there was this amazing Chinese wizard boy! This kid was a chess master genius. He was top of the line and fast too. We tried really hard to touch him, so we could say we touched the new Bobby Fischer. I heard someone ask how old he was once the game was finished he replied "Five" and ran not walked away. It was weird and awesome.

Cardon and I got caught in the rain on our way home from church today. I snapped a quick shot when we arrived home of Mr. Poopy Pants... It's a good thing this happened on the the way home from church instead of to!

BUSY BEE

I am excited this week because two really cool ventures have come my way. ((((((good vibes)))))) The first was being contacted by David Salle's studio manager to ask if I would be interested in working with David to design and illustrate some typography that will then be super imposed into some of his paintings...WHAT! of course I said yes. I have been working and meeting with him in the most amazing home and studio ever. Not to mention, he is paying me quite handsomely. It has been such a cool experiance and we have just gotten started.

This is Maya Hayuk, she is a very talented artist who produces some really beautiful work. Thanks to a friend referring her to me, Maya contacted me the other day to see if I would be interested in helping her do a big install for the Scope art fair. I spent the better part of today with her and her friend sanding and painting wood panals that we will later piece together on a 92 foot long wall. It is going to be huge and look great when finished. I had a great time today, ate thai and made a good friend.

The only problem with these to good fortunes is that it causes me to ignore my school projects, last two months of school and have a ton of stuff to do... oh well.

MY ETSY SHOP

I have been making covered button earrings for quite some time now, selling them in local boutiques as well as one in SLC. I have been meaning to get them set up in etsy forever, and now I have. Check em' out! I hope to continually update the shop with other niceities. Things to watch for in the near future: some letterpress cards and prints, pin sets, silkscreen posters... etc ect. I hope you like the earrings. I do, get em while their hot!!!

GEORGIA

For my recent birthday Cardon gave me a suprise ticket to Georgia to visit my brother and his family. It was so much fun to spend time with them, meet my new nephew and be inspired by their beautiful backyard full of trees. Looking back towards their house, I love that you can just walk out the back door and get lost in the woods.

This is where we had a bonfire. I love bonfires.

Although it was February i was able to find some beautiful hidden greens of life and much inspiration.




I could have played out here for days.

C' LATEST BOOK

Here is a little taste of C's latest book. He has had to design a couple for his portfolio class this year so far. I thought I would share his latest. This particular one is a visual representation or study of Agatha Christie's novel And Then There Were None. This is a 130 pg book, having to use only imagery and no type or text. I think is turned out beautifully. I could go into his concept and reasoning but I just wanted to show off the visuals.
