THANKSGIVING IN CONNECTICUT

We had a lot of fun over the Thanksgiving weekend. We went hiking in the forcean (where the forest meets the ocean), antique shopping, thrifting, junkyard scavenging, watchin some good movies, playing moods and of course eating delicious grub. We were able to play around with our new lomography fisheye and split cameras.

WEBB BOYS

Check out these sweet pictures of Cardon and his brothers that i had to steal off Kim's blog (bradkimmartin.blogspot.com), the sister to these crazys. So rad.

MANY THANKS

It being November and all i wanted to post a few things that we are greatful for at the moment.

walking to the subway in the mornings with cardon

old cloth that i can make pretty things out of

racoons...we currently have one that hangs out in our front yard, it makes me feel more at home

random encounters with people in the city...makes for some good conversations

Cardon recieving a scholarship...good work cardon

my coat angie gave me for christmas last year...nothing makes me happier than slippin that bad boy on in the mornings

internet...it only took us 2 years to finally sign up for this...maybe some day we will get tv...probably not its better this way

libraries...i love always being in the middle of a good book...and for that matter i love good book covers and old maps

healthy bodies...this is an important one...when i fathom how much i use my body and how elaborate they are it makes me want to try and never take it for granted...we walk everywhere out here, plus think about how often you use your hands, eyes, ears, legs, feet, everything. so greatful for this one

family and friends...you all know who you are and we are so greatful for you in our lives

beautys in every day life...leaves changing, the smell of campfire, rain, blossoms, fresh air, sunrises, beautiful signage, happy accidents, fresh bread, getting a seat on the train, smiles, birds chirpping, snowflakes, writing a letter, sharing, creating.

our heavenly father...knowing that this is all provided by him and that he is always there for us no matter what.

FOLLOW UP PASSPORT

Ok so i seriously would not post this but Cardon is begging me to so i will take one for the team. Here is a comparison of my old and soon to be new passport photo. And seriously the old is a bad picture and my face looks really round, but i wasn't bigger just an FYI. The old one is from when i was 18. I was a lifty in Aspen thus my sweet beanie tan line. So i think it is safe to assume that i am looking better at 25 than at 18. Let the comments roll.

PASSPORT

It's about that time, time for me to get a new passport. I just had to post this picture i got taken for it today, i look like i am straight out the 70's. But i kinda like it. With this passport i am finally changing my name to Webb, no more having two identities. And no more security workers not believing that my passport is mine. Apparently my last passport photo makes me look a lot heavier. The last guy wouldn't let me through until i told him how much weight i seriously had lost. The sad thing is i don't think i have lost anything; my face just looks skinnier and paler for that matter.

GORILLA

I had to post these pictures of my nephew. His costume is pretty genius. Isn't he the cutest.

WEAKERTHANS

Cardon i are going to see these guys in concert tonight. It's their reunion tour, so we are pretty lucky to get to go to this one. A little pre-halloween celebration, I can't wait. Hope to have pictures tomorrow.

FISH EYE ADVENTURES

Here are some pics we took with our fisheye camera. Most of the ones that turned out were from some little adventures in Brooklyn. There is a picture of part of Cardon's work desk and he and Dave working on the Stella's cowls. Doing a little body work. These two pics got divided a bit. But i still thought they were cool. Hope to have some more photos soon. Enjoy.

HELVETICA

Today the creatives at my work went to see this movie, Helvetica. It is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It was very inspiring, a perfect way to start the weekend.

I love the fall. And i love exploring all the parks and bridges out here in nyc. One thing i miss about back home is being able to hike up the canyon and clear my mind. We have to emprovize a little out here, but i like it.

Another internship for Cardon

Cardon was offered a paid internship with these two individuals, Tim Hsu and Rodrigo Corral. Both very talented and great to work with. Cardon is learning a lot and loving the experience. Plus, since he doesn't have time for both this internship and his Bella Muse internship, Bella Muse offered to pay him and have him work part-time as a designer because she doesn't want to loose him. Between these two gigs, a full-time school schedule and working at the skate shop, he doesn't have a lot of extra time for much else. Cardon spends every other spare minute of his free-time in the silk-screen lab and working on the scooter while hanging out with me of course. Don't you think Cardon's pretty awesome. I know i do.

on press

Cardon and i had a wonderful weekend exploring Brooklyn on the scooter and checking out some great shops. It was such an inspiring and enjoyable weekend. We took some pictures with our fisheye camera. I am hoping to have the film developed in a few days. Yesterday i was able to go on press for one of the jobs i have been designing for the past little while (3 accordian mailer books with a cross folder). It is so neat to be able to see your job print. And to be part of the process in matching color to the proofs, seeing the plates, etc. Plus, i love the smell of ink. I find the whole process so fascinating.
