RED
Kelly and I recently saw the broadway play RED. We really enjoyed the dialog and discussion (Though we are a bit bias, because we like Rothko!). A highlight was some frantic live painting which left both actors covered in, you guessed it -red.
Written by John Logan, (Sweeney Todd, The Aviator, Gladiator and The Last Samurai) Red is a portrait of Mark Rothko, the 20th century artist known for his large canvases of color. The play recently opened at the Donmar Warehouse. It's simply two actors, one set – all the action revolves around increasingly adversarial conversations between Rothko (Alfred Molina) and his assistant (Eddie Redmayne) during a two-year period at the end of the 1950s, when Rothko was working on a highly paid commission to provide a series of murals for the new Four Seasons restaurant in Manhattan's Seagram Building.
The last decade of Rothko's life his palette reduce dramatically – the refulgent primaries, the glowing oranges and yellows, of his first colour-field paintings giving way to a predominance of increasingly sombre shades of red and black: bruised plum, tarnished magenta, deep scarlet.

SHHHH.... HE IS SLEEPING
We spent an amazing night a an immaculate home here in the west village this past Tuesday night. Thanks to our hommie Jess B. (She is house sitting there as their interior designer) I cant explain how amazing this place is in words, maybe I can grab some photos to post. 8000 sq ft of fun, not including all of the balcony and roof space. After some finger lickin yum yums, compliments of Baugh and Naho. We found Cardon passed out in one of the children's bed dreaming of the arctic. Super creepy or super cute, you decide.

I found these amazing photos on notcot.org of someone's flight from Salt Lake to Los Angeles. These are breath taking. I love how the snow covered mountains bleed into the flat plains and valleys.

NEW YORK WEARING YOU DOWN?
I spotted this poor soul asleep on his donut while walking to work. My first thought was "HA, look at this guy!?" Then as I walked away my smile faded. I realized I did not have a donut or the option for more sleep... Dang it! This guy had what I wanted, I am the sucker! Rushing to work with no breakfast. Sleep on guy, and sweetest of dreams. I salute you.

I MISS THE COLORS
I was going through some of our photos over the past few months. I was able to go home in the fall this past year for the first time in almost 5 years. It's such a beautiful palette. There is something about the crisp cool air, the smell of apple season setting in, and the sun's warmth on your skin. I love the fall!
