CARDON IN SHOW

Cardon is in a typography show that opened this past Thursday at SVA. He was asked to do an installation and this is what he came up with. It's a little hard to photograph because it's not meant to be seen. The quotes are a nod to Beatrice Ward and Frank Lloyd Wright (not direct quotes, interpretations). His idea was bringing them together through medium and placement.

MOMA

A few days ago we went to the MOMA to check out the color show. If you are in the neighborhood i would definitely recommend seeing it. My favorite was this room with the neon lights, as seen above captured with a janky phone photo.

ADC PAPER EXPO

Last night i was able to attend the ADC Paper Expo. Besides fighting the crowds it was really nice. I was able to pick up some really great samples.

One print/paper shop even had a letterpress set up, printing off thankyou cards.

JACK RABBITS

This year we celebrated Easter with our neighbors the Doxeys.
We had a little Easter egg hunt out back, mostly for Leah, but for Cardon too.

After the Easter egg hunt we made a delicious feast that we enjoyed with the Doxeys and the Eastmans. Check out this sweet cake we ate for dessert, compliments of Amber.

GOT MY COOK ON

A few days ago some of my co-workers and one of our clients left work early and had a little informal team building celebration. What better way to do that then taking a cooking lesson? It was so fun! We went to the NY Institute of Culinary Education I would definitely recommend it. We split up into three groups and each made a course (potato gnocchi with mushroom ragout, roasted striped bass filets with sauteed shallots and thyme orzo, and red velvet cakes with cream cheese icing). I helped make the potato gnocchi.

The guy to the left is my head creative director, Sven.

The girls with the hats are Kate and Jess, some of my fellow co-workers. I work with a really great team. They are all super nice and have made me feel right at home.

Here are a few more girls that i work closely with, Austyn and Gretta. They are helping with the gnocchi. Aren't our hats sweet.

THESE FLATS WERE MADE FOR WALKING AND THAT'S JUST WHAT THEY'LL DO

So Cardon and I recently watched a movie about health that said you are suppose to walk 10,000 steps a day. So for my birthday Cardon bought me a pedometer. I have been so into it. I think the people at my work are wondering why i rock a beeper when i own an iphone.

So just in the last week i have walked 56,907 steps. That's a total of 27.29 miles, an average of about 4 miles a day. Which is pretty good for someone who sits at the computer most of the day for work. I am getting excited for the warm weather to come so i can be out and about more.

MAKEOVER

Past transgressions of her previous owner

Me and surf punk John bangin out some dents and sanding the steel clean.

Shaping and sanding the bondo to give her back her natural womenly curves.

Nice shot of our beautiful backyard.

Shaped, taped and ready for primer... I think my fly is 1/4 of its way down here.

Primered and waiting to be sent to Utah for K.P.s older brother Kent to paint them powder blue.

Yes! finally after 3 months of waiting and shipping they're back, put together and looking oh so fresh. Cheers Kent!

Here is my crush, happy and clean. Peep the custom "Webbs" mud flap and new red grips!

With a new headlamp, sparkplug, back tire and her motor oil changed its like riding cloud nine to and fro.

NEW JOB

I got a new job! I will be working at Siegel+Gale as a designer. It is a branding company and will be much more conceptual. I am very excited and ready for a new chapter. I must say though that i have had a very good experience at Doremus. If you are interested here is a campaign i recently did there.

My co-workers were so sweet and they know that i am a twizzler addict. So they all chipped in and got me a box of 24 bags of twizzlers and wrapped it in licorice wrapping paper. It was crazy. So if anyone wants any licorice just ask, I've got plenty.

REVLON 5K FOR WOMEN

This May I will be running in the Revlon Walk/Run 5K for women battling cancer. I am running in honor of all of the people out there, men and women, who have had to live this battle.

I have set myself a small goal of $500. I really don't like asking for money, but I do like people to support a good cause. So if you wish to donate in memory of someone or on behalf of someone please let me know. We will be reading those names prior to the race.

Do it for those loved ones in your life who are fighting or if you would just like to help a good cause.

RANDOM SUMMER PICS

Here is a picture of our backyard. It doesn't show it here, but we have a little garden. We are really lucky to have a front and back yard for living in nyc.

This picture creeps me out, but i love it.

Cardon and Stella next to our house. We will have to post some new pictures of the Stella. Cardon has done a bunch of body work on her. And my brother Kent painted the cowls and glove box powder blue with red racing stripes. So she is two-toned now baby!!!

I am happy i found these pictures. Cardon and Mike were going out for a midnight skate session on stella. p.s. nice ace shoot...

I swear these two secretly love each other. Props to Cardon's fake flip off.

FOLLOW UP FROM THE CARRIBEAN ADVENTURE

We had such a great time on our trip with the Pyne family. We were able to stop off in Grand Turk, Tortola, St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. This made for lots of snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, exploring, horseback riding, riding scooters, playing cards and of course eating. Thanks JT and Sue! We had so much fun. We are still waiting for some of our film to get developed so these are just a few of the goods. I don't have a picture of all my family members, but i am hoping to have some when i develop the film. There were 14 of us total so it was a little crazy.

We ate the best dinners on the cruise. Check out JT and Sue aren't they cute.

We were able to snorkle or scuba dive at just about every island. So this is pretty much what Cardon looked like everyday!

Check out this father & son duo.

Snorkeling at St. John. Super pretty.

Just enjoying the boat on the way back from St. John.

These baths were awesome. Tons of good climbing around and beautiful water.

Cam is sporting the dopest beard. We named him Blackbeard. I am pretty sure he was a pirate in another life.

We were exploring in Puerto Rico.

It was my b-day on the boat so i decided to wear something special. This dress was my mom's. Isn't is sweet. Kenton and i are headed up to dinner to celebrate.

Blackbeard and Cardon cruizin in the kayak.

There was an outbreak of G.I. on the ship. We aren't sure where it started but i have my suspisions. Incase you were wondering Mandee is holding a sea cucumber.

We were able to scuba dive a few wrecks. If any of you have seen the movie, "The Deep" it was filmed at one of the dive sites we did called the Wreck of the Rhone. It was so cool. I am hoping to get some copies of pictures. So i will post more when they come in.
